President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Murtala Sule Garo following his inauguration as the Deputy Governor of Kano State.

The message was conveyed in a statement released by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Information, Bayo Onanuga, shortly after Garo took the oath of office
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Garo’s appointment comes after the resignation of former deputy governor Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, who stepped down amid political realignments tied to the governor’s move to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Following his nomination, Garo received approval from the Kano State House of Assembly.
At 48, Garo brings a wealth of political experience to the role.
His career includes serving as Chairman of Kabo Local Government and later as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs during the administration of former governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
He was also the APC’s deputy governorship candidate in the 2023 elections.
In his remarks, Tinubu praised Governor Yusuf for what he described as a strategic decision that strengthens unity within the APC in Kano State.
He called on party members and stakeholders to rally behind the new leadership, emphasizing the importance of cooperation for effective governance.

The President further encouraged Garo to work closely with the governor in delivering impactful leadership and advancing development across the state, expressing confidence in his ability to succeed in the role.
