The mother of late Nollywood actress and influencer Nimmy Ferrari has appealed to Nigerians for help amid an alleged dispute with her daughter’s paternal family over her burial arrangements and ownership of her newly completed house.
In a video seen by MayGist, the grieving woman alleged that members of Nimota’s father’s family were opposed to the late actress being buried in the house she had recently completed.
She said the situation had deepened her grief, claiming she played the leading role in raising and educating her daughter, including paying for her university education.
According to the mother, Nimota’s father did not contribute towards her daughter’s schooling or medical expenses, including during the period she was hospitalised.
Mother speaks on family history
The woman further alleged that she had five children with Nimota’s father but that Nimota was the only surviving child from their relationship.
She also recalled an earlier dispute with her daughter’s father over school fees, claiming she sustained an injury to her head during the disagreement.
Speaking emotionally in the video, she appealed to Nigerians to intervene, alleging that the paternal family was seeking control of Nimota’s house.
“Nigerians, save me from Nimota’s father’s family. They said Nimota should not be buried in her house. I had five children for their family, and it’s just Nimota left. Same Nimota, they have killed her now they want to take the house.”
‘I paid for her education’
The bereaved mother maintained that she bore the financial responsibility for Nimota’s education and said she did not receive support from the actress’s father when she needed it.
She also claimed that no member of the paternal family assisted with Nimota’s medical treatment while she was in hospital.
“When she was at the hospital, I did not see anyone to drop a dime. Baba Nimota did not drop a dime, he did not send her to school. I sent her to school till she finished university. Her father did not pay her school fees.”
She further alleged that the injury on her head resulted from a confrontation with Nimota’s father over school fees.
Why she agreed to burial at the house
The mother explained that she had personally given permission for Nimota to be buried at the property because she wanted her daughter’s legacy to remain preserved.
She said Nimota had no children and argued that keeping the house within the family was important to preserving what her daughter left behind.
“They called me this evening because I’m the one that gave them permission to bury Nimota in her house. She does not have children, so her legacy will not be lost. That’s why I instructed them to bury her there.”

The woman also dismissed suggestions that she wanted to benefit personally from the property, insisting that she already had her own home.
She, however, alleged that the family intended to sell Nimota’s house.
“I have my own house; there is nothing I want to use Nimota’s house for. Help me, they want to sell the house off. He did not spend a dime on her. They want to sell her house.”
The allegations have brought fresh attention to the circumstances surrounding Nimmy Ferrari’s burial and the fate of the property she left behind, with the mother publicly seeking intervention in the dispute.
