Fairytale endings do not always last forever, and for Tanzanian music power couple Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu, the love story that captivated East Africa appears to have reached an emotional crossroads.

Just over a year after tying the knot, singer Zuchu has announced that her marriage to the award-winning Bongo Flava star has broken down, revealing that the couple is now going through divorce proceedings.
Zuchu confirms separation from Diamond Platnumz
The singer made the announcement in an emotional post shared on her Instagram page on Sunday, leaving fans stunned.
Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu officially got married in June 2025 after years of speculation and an on-and-off relationship that lasted about six years.
Although she did not disclose what led to the breakdown of the marriage, Zuchu suggested that despite their efforts to make things work, fate had other plans.
“We tried, but Allah has His own plans,” she wrote.
She added that the difficult decision was necessary for her personal well-being, saying she now wants to prioritise her health, healing and music career.
“My husband and I are now separated and going through a divorce. I announce this with a heavy heart. After six years of being together, I’ve finally decided to choose myself.
“This is a time to heal and focus more on my health and career.”
The announcement has sparked widespread reactions across social media, with fans expressing shock over the collapse of one of East Africa’s most celebrated celebrity marriages.
Peller prepares for marriage with counselling classes
Meanwhile, Nigerian TikTok sensation Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, popularly known as Peller, has disclosed that he is taking deliberate steps to prepare for married life ahead of his white wedding to fellow content creator Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis.

The couple recently announced that their white wedding ceremony has been scheduled for August 1, 2026.
Speaking during a livestream, Peller revealed that he has been attending private marriage counselling sessions to equip himself for the responsibilities of being a husband.
According to him, the counselling programme partly explains why he has been less active on social media in recent weeks.
The content creator also disclosed that he purchased a television broadcast van worth $36,000 for the wedding.
Peller explained that he wants the ceremony to be professionally televised, allowing supporters and fans across the world to watch the event live.
