Nigerian music star Asake has opened up about why he stepped away from dancing as a full-time pursuit, despite still having a deep passion for it.

Speaking during an interview on African Voices, the singer revealed that his decision was largely influenced by financial ambition.
While he described dance as something he genuinely loves and continues to enjoy, he admitted it couldn’t provide the level of income he envisioned for himself.
According to Asake, choosing music over dance was a practical move aimed at securing greater financial success.
He noted that although dance remains part of his identity, it didn’t align with his long-term goals.

His energetic performances earned him recognition online and helped him cultivate an early following within entertainment circles.
