World Cup 2026: Tunisia, Haiti, Türkiye Suffer Early Exits

Tunisia’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign has ended in disappointment after a 4–0 defeat to Japan in Monterrey on Sunday confirmed their elimination from the tournament.

World Cup 2026: Tunisia, Haiti, Türkiye Suffer Early Exits

The Carthage Eagles, who had earlier suffered a 5–1 loss to Sweden in their opening Group F match, have now lost both of their group games without picking up a single point. With just one match remaining and a maximum of three points still available, Tunisia are mathematically out of contention for a place in the Round of 32.

Their exit adds to a growing list of early casualties at the tournament, coming shortly after Haiti and Türkiye were also knocked out.

In Group C action in Philadelphia, five-time world champions Brazil strengthened their dominance with a convincing 3–0 win over Haiti. The result officially ended Haiti’s hopes of progressing, as they remain bottom of the group with zero points from two matches and a goal difference of minus four.

Haiti will now face Morocco on June 24 in a fixture that will serve only as a formality, with qualification already decided.

Elsewhere, Türkiye’s campaign also came to a premature end after a 1–0 defeat to Paraguay at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium in Group D.

The loss marked their second consecutive defeat, leaving them without a point and unable to advance to the knockout stage despite still having one group match left to play.

With multiple teams already eliminated, the group stage continues to deliver early shocks as traditional and emerging football nations alike struggle to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
