The fragile calm between the United States and Iran appears to be slipping away once again.
Just when many hoped the latest wave of hostilities was beginning to ease, US President Donald Trump delivered a chilling warning that suggests Washington’s military campaign is far from over.
Standing alongside Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House on Tuesday, Trump signalled that the United States could soon unleash another powerful military operation, this time targeting one of Iran’s most mysterious and heavily protected nuclear sites.
At the centre of the warning is Pickaxe Mountain, a deeply buried facility near Iran’s main nuclear complex in Natanz, which Western intelligence agencies believe could be housing an undeclared uranium enrichment programme.
And according to Trump, it may not remain untouched for much longer.
‘We’re Going To Hit It Very Heavily’
Unlike most world leaders who avoid publicly discussing potential military targets, Trump did the exact opposite.
In remarks that immediately sent shockwaves through diplomatic and security circles, the US president openly identified Pickaxe Mountain as a possible target for an impending American strike.
“We’ll be hitting that area pretty soon, and very heavily,” Trump declared.
The president admitted it was highly unusual to reveal such military intentions before an operation but insisted Iran would be powerless to stop whatever Washington decides to do.
“Normally, you don’t announce your targets,” Trump said. “But there’s not a thing they can do about it.”
The comments marked one of his strongest public warnings since fighting between the two countries escalated again earlier this month.
‘We’re Not Leaving’
Trump also poured cold water on suggestions that the United States was preparing to scale back its military campaign.
Instead, he argued that Iran’s nuclear and military capabilities had already suffered extensive damage and claimed it would take decades for Tehran to fully recover.
“If we left right now, it would take Iran 20, 25 years to rebuild,” he said.
“We’re not finished at all… we’re not leaving right now.”
His remarks indicate that Washington intends to maintain sustained military pressure on Iran, particularly against facilities suspected of supporting its nuclear ambitions.
A Mountain Hiding A Nuclear Secret?
Pickaxe Mountain has increasingly become one of the world’s most closely watched locations.
Situated close to Iran’s principal nuclear facilities around Natanz, the underground complex has attracted intense scrutiny from Western intelligence agencies.
Security analysts believe the mountain may conceal an undeclared uranium enrichment facility built deep beneath layers of rock—making it one of the hardest military targets to destroy using conventional weapons.
Although Iranian authorities have repeatedly denied pursuing nuclear weapons, concerns over the country’s nuclear programme continue to fuel tensions with the West.
Middle East Conflict Continues To Expand
Trump’s latest warning comes as the conflict continues to spill across the Middle East.
Iran reportedly intensified its military operations on Tuesday, with attacks affecting Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain, raising fresh concerns that the confrontation is expanding beyond the two principal adversaries.

The renewed violence follows nearly two weeks of sustained military exchanges between Washington and Tehran, heightening fears that the crisis could evolve into a wider regional conflict involving more countries.
Analysts also warn that prolonged fighting could disrupt global energy supplies, threaten international shipping routes and further destabilise an already volatile Middle East.
For now, diplomacy appears to be taking a back seat as both sides continue to exchange threats, with the possibility of another major US strike now looming over one of Iran’s most secretive nuclear sites.
