For years, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya has stood behind the pulpit at Fountain of Life Church, shepherding a congregation, acting on Nollywood screens, and — by his own admission — quietly searching.

On Sunday, the search ended. And he let the whole church watch it end.
A Sunday Unlike Any Other
The service began like any other. Then the pastor did something unusual: he called a woman forward and led her to the altar, presenting her to the congregation for the very first time.
“Allow me to introduce to you for the first time, Pastor Mrs. Odukoya, a new first lady, my wife. Pastor Mo Odukoya,” he declared, unveiling Pastor Mo Jasmine as his wife.
The announcement confirmed what some had already suspected. A post had circulated online, and reactions had split — some wondered whether it was artwork, a publicity stunt, a teaser. On Sunday, the pastor cleared it up: it was no artwork. It was his wife.
“I Was Looking and Searching, and I Found”
When Odukoya spoke about how the union came to be, he reached for Scripture — and for the language of longing.
“You know, the Bible said it is not good, it said I will find someone suitable. When Adam saw, he said this is the flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone. I was looking and searching, and I found,” he told the congregation.
It was a rare public glimpse into the private life of a cleric who has long balanced ministry with a career in film. And it framed the moment not as a celebrity reveal, but as the answer to a personal quest.
A New First Lady, and a Familiar History
The woman now introduced as the church’s new first lady steps into a story that has known both joy and rupture. Odukoya was previously married to Oluwakemi Sade Banjoko. The two wed in London in March 2013 and welcomed two children before the marriage ended and their paths separated.

On Sunday, the spotlight was on the future — a pastor, his new wife, and a congregation that had just witnessed an introduction few saw coming.
What the Moment Meant
There is something disarming about a public figure choosing the altar, rather than a press release, to announce a marriage. No statements, no curated photos — just a man, a woman, a microphone, and a church watching.
Whether the online speculation helped or hurt, the pastor’s message was simple: the search is over, and the woman standing beside him is the answer.
