Russia has issued a fresh warning to the United Kingdom after confirming that British-made drones have been used by Ukraine in recent strikes against military and industrial targets on Russian territory.
The Russian embassy in London accused the UK of deliberately deepening its involvement in the war and warned that Britain could face unspecified consequences.
In a statement, the embassy said London was “deliberately opting for an escalation of the Ukraine crisis”, adding that the deeper Britain became involved in the conflict, “the higher the price it will pay”.
Moscow did not specify what action it might take against Britain.
Moscow Issues Fresh Warning To London
The latest warning follows a growing campaign of Ukrainian drone strikes against targets deep inside Russia, including facilities linked to the country’s energy and logistics sectors.
Russian officials have repeatedly criticised Britain for supplying military technology to Ukraine, particularly long-range weapons and drone systems.
The Russian embassy said: “London’s actions will inevitably carry consequences for which it will have to answer.”
The statement comes as the war increasingly affects targets far from the front lines, with Ukraine using both domestically developed and foreign-supplied weapons to strike Russian infrastructure.
UK Refuses To Back Down
The British government, however, showed no indication that it would scale back its support for Kyiv.
A spokesperson for the UK Ministry of Defence said Britain remained firmly behind Ukraine and warned Russia against underestimating the government’s resolve.
“Russia should be in no doubt about the resolve of this government to stand against Russian aggression, in Ukraine and against the UK and our allies,” the spokesperson said.
The MoD added that Britain remained committed to providing Ukraine with the equipment required to defend itself against Russian aggression.
The UK has been one of Ukraine’s strongest international supporters since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022.
British Drones Reportedly Used In Russian Strikes
Two British companies are known to have produced drones supplied to Ukraine, while a military source confirmed that UK-made drones had been deployed in recent attacks inside Russia.
The strikes have reportedly targeted military installations, oil infrastructure and logistics facilities.
Russian officials previously accused Britain of providing technology used in attacks on Russian territory. In 2024, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova alleged that drones containing British components and configurations had been used to attack targets including a fuel depot in Rostov region.
The latest attacks are also putting pressure on Russia’s domestic fuel supply and economy.
Ukraine Takes The War Deeper Into Russia
Ukraine has intensified its long-range attacks in recent weeks, with Moscow and surrounding areas among the targets.
Russian officials said hundreds of drones were launched towards the Moscow region over a two-day period, forcing air-defence systems to respond across the area.
Regional governor Andrey Vorobyov said a 10-year-old girl was injured, while a logistics facility operated by online retailer Wildberries suffered damage.
Wildberries later said one of its logistics complexes sustained minor damage.
Russian authorities also reported that more than 180 drones were intercepted or destroyed during one overnight wave of attacks.
The scale of the attacks has increased dramatically in recent months. On one occasion, Ukrainian forces reportedly launched about 822 drones towards Russia, with hundreds directed at the Moscow region.
The attacks have demonstrated Kyiv’s growing ability to strike targets hundreds of kilometres from the battlefield.
Ukraine is also developing its own long-range weapons, including the FP-5 Flamingo cruise missile, alongside the use of Western-supplied systems.
Russia And Ukraine Continue Deadly Exchanges
While Ukraine has expanded its strikes against targets inside Russia, Russian forces have continued their own attacks across Ukrainian cities and communities.
One of the latest deadly incidents occurred in Pechenihy, a village in north-eastern Ukraine, where Ukrainian officials said two Russian missiles struck the centre of the community.
Ten people were reportedly killed in the attack, with homes, a café and a post office among the structures hit.

Other casualties were reported in Sumy, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, while several people were wounded in Izium and Kyiv also came under repeated attacks.
The latest exchanges underline the increasingly long-range nature of the conflict, with both sides capable of striking targets far beyond the immediate battlefield.
UK Expands Drone Support For Ukraine
Britain has continued to increase its military assistance to Ukraine.
In April, the UK Ministry of Defence announced plans to provide Kyiv with tens of thousands of drones, including long-range strike systems, describing the package as its largest drone support programme to date.
The expanded support has further heightened tensions between London and Moscow.
Russia currently controls roughly a fifth of Ukrainian territory, while Kyiv continues to seek ways to weaken Russian military capabilities and disrupt supply lines and strategic infrastructure.
For Britain, the latest Russian warning represents another escalation in an already tense relationship. For Moscow, the use of British-made technology in attacks inside Russia has become another point of confrontation with one of Ukraine’s most important Western allies.
Neither side has indicated that it intends to step back from its current position.
