Nigerian music star Adebayo Adeleke, popularly known as B-Red, reportedly escaped a suspected assassination attempt in Osogbo on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. near the Oke-Fia axis, close to the Osun State Government House.

According to the singer’s account, he was targeted and chased by individuals believed to be hoodlums while driving through the area.

B-Red explained that the situation began shortly after he left Alekuwodo Market, where he had gone to purchase some items.

While approaching a traffic point beneath the Okefia Bridge, a group of motorcycle riders—reportedly wearing AMBO-branded caps—attempted to encircle his vehicle.

Sensing danger, he tried to exit the area, but the situation quickly escalated.

A white Toyota Venza allegedly joined the pursuit, with occupants said to have identified him and coordinated with the riders.

Both the vehicle and the motorcycles reportedly trailed his jeep, repeatedly attempting to intercept and block his movement.

The chase intensified through the Oke-Fia area until B-Red managed to reach the gates of the Osun State Government House, where he found safety.

Suspect Identified by Singer

The singer stated that during the incident, he recognised one of the individuals involved, identifying him as Asiri Eniba, whom he described as a known political enforcer.

Authorities have since been notified, and the matter has been reported to the police for investigation.

Government and Police React

Reacting to the development, the Osun State Government called for swift action, urging security agencies to apprehend and prosecute those responsible.

The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, emphasised the need for a prompt response to ensure justice and maintain public safety.
