The wedding ceremony recently sparked controversy after reports emerged that Seun Kuti left the event in protest over an alleged comparison between his late father and the Grammy-winning singer.

A video circulating on social media showed Seun Kuti walking out of the lavishly decorated venue alongside two companions, fueling speculation that he was displeased with comments made during the event.

‘No One Compared Wizkid To Fela’

Reacting to the controversy, MC Edo Pikin, who was one of the hosts at the ceremony, insisted that the reports were false.

In a video shared online, the comedian maintained that none of the three MCs at the wedding made such a comparison, stressing that Seun Kuti may have misunderstood what was said.

According to him, the hosts were in fact praising both Seun and his late father rather than making any controversial comparison.

“The other two MCs didn’t say anything like that. It’s not that they exonerated me. I made sure I worked very well with the other two MCs. Nobody mentioned anything about Fela and Wizkid,” he said.

MC Edo Pikin lamented the speed at which unverified stories spread online, accusing social media users of amplifying fabricated narratives without confirming the facts.

He explained that the event featured three MCs and described the wedding as successful and well-coordinated from start to finish.

He noted that the wedding was largely hitch-free and only attracted controversy because of the alleged incident.

“Sometimes, you need to listen well. The MCs were even praising you. They’re praising Fela, but you didn’t even listen. You just missed the sweet food available that day. We should always verify.

“The event was so perfect that no bloggers even saw where they could latch on. Egbon Seun, be calming. No be everything na quarrel,” he added.

The incident has continued to generate reactions on social media, with fans divided over whether Seun Kuti misunderstood the comments or acted appropriately based on what he heard.
