“I Was Abandoned” — Roy De-Nani Speaks On Nollywood Ordeal And Family Loss

During a recent appearance on the Where Is The Lie podcast, the actor revealed that his once-thriving acting career took a sudden downturn after he was allegedly blacklisted within Nollywood.

According to him, there were times producers removed him from movie projects without explanation, even after filming had already begun.

Roy De-Nani claimed that certain filmmakers stopped offering him roles because of directives allegedly issued against him behind the scenes in the industry.

The development, he said, significantly affected his career and left him struggling to stay active in Nollywood.

Beyond his professional challenges, the actor also opened up about painful family losses that deeply affected his life.

He recounted the emotional trauma of losing his brother and said he felt completely abandoned during that difficult period.

According to him, none of his colleagues in the movie industry reached out to support or comfort him after the tragedy, an experience he described as heartbreaking.

The veteran actor further revealed that he suffered another devastating blow with the deaths of both his son and daughter.

He explained that the children battled sickle cell disorder and depended on frequent blood transfusions for survival.

Roy De-Nani disclosed that financial hardship made it impossible for him to continue funding their medical treatment.

As a result, he was unable to provide the consistent care they needed, leading to their deaths.

He also stated that he received no assistance from members of the film industry while going through the painful ordeal.

Reflecting on his experiences, the actor said many people may never fully understand the depth of his pain unless they have endured similar circumstances themselves.
