In the now widely circulated clip, Ganga—who has occupied the seat for about 16 years—became visibly emotional, even breaking into tears, as he addressed constituents urging them to back his re-election despite growing calls for fresh leadership.

During his plea, he reminded the audience of his humble beginnings and his record in office. “You all know I came from a poor background, yet I’ve done my best to serve you.

If given another opportunity, I promise even better representation,” he said.

Reports indicate that the race for the constituency seat is already heating up, with at least six other aspirants said to have obtained nomination forms, signaling strong competition.

The emotional appeal has triggered a wave of reactions on social media, with opinions sharply divided.

While some critics dismissed his tears as insincere and argued that 16 years in office is more than enough, others questioned his entitlement to continue in the role, calling for new faces and ideas.

On the other hand, a few voices came to his defense, highlighting his contributions to youth empowerment and job creation, and suggesting that showing emotion should not be seen as a weakness.
