Some angry youths in Ikpoba Hill area of Benin City where the young Uniben student was raped and killed, has set the parish of the redeemed church where the incidence occurred ablaze.
The youths were seen to have rushed to the scene of the event to know exactly what happened, and after they discovered how the event unfolded, they set the whole place on fire.
The Student of the University of Benin, identified as miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, went to the church to read when the disheartening event happened, where she was gang-raped and later killed.
The church has released a statement on how the whole thing happened as narrated by the guard who happened to be the chief security officer of the church.
“He got to the church only to find the girl in critical condition and in a pool of blood with the blood-stained fire extinguisher near her.
“He ran back to inform the key keeper and his wife, who went to the church to meet her lifeless. After careful observation, it was noticed that she moved her hand and was rushed to the hospital.
“It was at that point that she revealed she was reading alone that night when the unknown men came into the church, beat her, raped and hit her head with a fire extinguisher. They left giving her up for dead”.
