The social networking platform X, formerly known as Twitter, suffered a major global outage on Monday, leaving millions of users unable to access their accounts via both the website and mobile application.

Users attempting to log in were met with little more than the platform’s logo, while timelines, posts, and notifications failed to load.
For some, repeated refresh attempts resulted in an error message stating, “Something went wrong. Try reloading.”
The disruption began early in the day and quickly escalated, with outage monitoring service Downdetector recording a sharp spike in complaints from multiple regions.
Reports indicated the issue was widespread, affecting users in countries including Nigeria, Canada, Australia, France, Indonesia, Ghana, and Germany.
Adding to user frustration, the platform’s official support accounts—typically used to provide real-time updates during technical difficulties—were also unreachable during the blackout.
As of the time of reporting, the company had not issued an official explanation for the disruption or provided a timeline for restoring full service.
This latest outage marks another setback for the platform, which has faced intermittent technical challenges in recent months.
In November 2025, X experienced a separate large-scale disruption linked to infrastructure issues involving Cloudflare.
That incident similarly prevented users in several countries from posting updates or accessing their feeds.

Despite recurring service interruptions, X remains one of the world’s most influential social media networks, widely used for real-time news, political discourse, and global conversations.
