Sad many women have lost their lives through rape not reported, and one begin to really wonder what’s in the Vagina of a Woman that it has to be violently taken and also killed?
A facebook user, Tony Okoro, still angry over the recent rape and murder of miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, says he’s yet to understands why men rape.
According to him, there’s nothing like uncontrollable urge as far as he’s concerned, for a man is always in control of himself at all times.
He writes further:
If you say you have uncontrollable urge why you nor go rape female soldier for barrack? Make dem help you cure your craze.
Rapist don’t rape because they have uncontrollable urge, or because they lack sex or can’t get sex elsewhere, they rape because they are sadistic misogynist and it’s quite unfortunate that our society encourages this misogyny. It’s been found out that rapist are particularly abetted by cultures in which women are regarded as second class citizens and where there’s a presumption of male authority and righteousness.
When women are raped, there’s always an immediate assessment of what she did wrong and which of her perceived mistakes made her vulnerable to her assailant, I find this very repulsive.
A girl was raped in a Church, her head smashed with a fire extinguisher and she died, and your immediate reaction is why was she reading inside a Church, which exam is she reading for and bla bla bla bla? Haba??? So you think it’s because Uwa was in the church alone that’s why she was raped? Or it’s because of what she wore?
See let me tell you, no matter the dress, demeanour or anything, a woman should not be an object of rape. Rape is theft, it is an invasion of a person’s intimate space.
An infringement of their right to bodily autonomy. No one should be violated this way, no one should be violated and beaten and worse of all killed. Women should always feel safe at all times. As a man, I have never been worried that I would get raped, no matter where I am, no matter how late it is, whether I am wearing a shirt or not. It’s crazy that
I have walked around my entire life completely oblivious to this fear that women take with them everywhere. Women should always feel safe. LET US SAY NO TO RAPE AND MAKE OUR SOCIETY SAFE FOR WOMEN!
