Former U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to the Nigerian Government, declaring that the United States will “do things Nigeria won’t like” if the country fails to address alleged persecution and killings of Christians.

Speaking during a press briefing in Washington D.C., Trump condemned what he described as “systemic attacks” on Christian communities, calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to take immediate and transparent action.
“We’re monitoring the situation closely. If the Nigerian government doesn’t protect its Christian population, we’ll take steps they won’t like — and very soon,” Trump stated.
His comments come amid mounting international attention on alleged religious violence and human rights abuses in parts of northern Nigeria.
The Nigerian government has not yet issued an official response to Trump’s latest remarks, though officials have previously denied allegations of state-backed persecution, insisting that all citizens enjoy freedom of religion and equal protection under the law.
