War Of Words: See What Happened When Obasanjo Met Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari and a former President, Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo, who has become his critic since last year met at the State House on Tuesday.

It was the meeting of the National Council of State that brought them together at a period that the two of them were starting a war of words.

The former president had accused President Buhari of returning Nigeria to the days of Sani Abacha.

But President Buhari had dismissed this claim, saying the former leaders should go and see a doctor.

Dr Obasanjo has also responded to that statement, saying President Buhari was “sick in his spirit soul and body”.

However, on Tuesday when they met before the meeting began, both men shoots hands and smiled at each other passionately.

The looks on their faces did not in any  way depict anything near war, even though they have engaged in the war of words in paper.

Another reason one should be weary of politicians in Nigeria.

Dr. Obasanjo has expressed his resentment for the administration of President Buhari and had made statements that were all targeted at making sure his second term dream was truncated.

Apparently the council meeting was not a place for war, as other former leaders of Nigeria were also there.

The National Council of State meeting held at the State House in Abuja was chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari and  others at the meeting were former Presidents/Heads of State Olusegun Obasanjo, Ernest Shonekan, Abdulsalam Abubakar and Goodluck Jonathan.
