On Tuesday, the 25-year-old shared a short workout clip on his official 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account, showing himself pushing through leg exercises in the gym.

In a light-hearted caption, he wrote: “Help me post this one too, I dey training.” The post quickly gained traction, with fans flooding the comments section with words of encouragement and anticipation.

Boniface has been out of action for several months after opting for surgery to address a knee contusion. In January, Werder Bremen confirmed that the forward would be sidelined for an extended period.

The Bundesliga club announced that the procedure would take place in Innsbruck under the supervision of renowned knee specialist Prof. Dr Christian Fink, following detailed medical assessments.

The road to recovery has not been easy. Boniface has previously opened up about the emotional toll of his injury struggles, admitting he had been “putting on a fake smile for over a year,” while maintaining faith through the difficult period.

His absence was first felt in November 2024 when a serious abductor injury ruled him out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast — a major blow both personally and professionally.

Further complications during rehabilitation also kept him out of Bremen’s first fixture of 2026 against Borussia Dortmund.

Before the setbacks, Boniface had been in impressive form, registering eight goals and one assist in just 15 appearances.

With training now underway, optimism is growing that the Nigerian forward can rediscover his sharpness and make a strong return when he is fully match-fit.
