The Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Anambra State, Valentine Ozigbo Moghalu who received heavy support from Peter Obi and the Obidient Movement, has rejected the outcome of the state election, describing it as a “sham and a mockery of democracy.”
In a statement released shortly after the results were announced, Moghalu alleged widespread irregularities, voter suppression, and a compromised process that failed to reflect the true will of the people.
He expressed disappointment over what he described as a flawed electoral system, accusing key stakeholders of undermining transparency and fairness during the polls.
Moghalu assured his supporters that the Labour Party would explore all legal and constitutional options in the Supreme Court to challenge the outcome, stressing that democracy must not be sacrificed for political convenience.
He also called on citizens and civil society groups to remain vigilant and continue advocating for a credible electoral process in the country.
