Ariyibi Ayomide, a 100-level Business Administration student of University of Lagos has committed suicide
She took her life after been accused in her hostel room in Amina hall of stealing some missing items which includes make up and clothes of another girl, which were allegedly found in Ayomide’s three bags.
As a result of this, the roommates disgraced her publicly calling her unspeakable names.
Ayomide called her mum who came down the next day to settle the issue. She paid for the make up valued at #2000.
After which she told her daughter to pack her bags and follow her home. But as she was going with the mum, the room mates shouted at her, calling her abusive names.
Her mum who is a unilag staff took her home and went back to work.
Ayomide who was the only one left at home,took sniper. And when the mum got back in the evening and saw her in a critical state, she asked what happened, Ayomide just stretched her hand to the bottle of the sniper she took.
Immediately her mum gave her first aid of palm oil and rushed her to a medical centre at ebute metta, where she was referred to Luth ( Medilag).where she gave up around 7pm.
