Tiwa Savage has spoken candidly about the lingering emotions she feels toward her former partner and longtime collaborator, Wizkid, admitting that sharing a stage with him still stirs deep feelings.
The award-winning singer made the revelation in a video that has since gone viral. Tiwa explained that performing alongside Wizkid is far from easy for her, as it reawakens memories from their past and makes the experience intensely emotional.
She reflected on their surprise reunion at the Great Lagos Countdown 2025, one of Lagos’ biggest annual music events.
Tiwa said that seeing Wizkid again took her straight back to how she felt six years ago, noting that she often finds it difficult to mask her emotions whenever they perform together.
Despite acknowledging that their relationship had its struggles, the singer said the joyful moments they shared still stand out strongly in her heart. Those memories, she admitted, sometimes overshadow the painful parts of their history.
In a particularly heartfelt moment, Tiwa confessed that her feelings for Wizkid have not completely faded. She revealed that if she had the chance to choose just one man in her life, it would be him.
“It’s uncomfortable performing with Wizkid on stage. I admit I’m still in love with him,” she said. “When we reunited at the Great Lagos Countdown 2025, my heart started beating the same way it did six years ago. Every time he comes close, I can’t stop myself from smiling.
