Suspected fighters from Boko Haram have reportedly killed three soldiers during an attack on Garaha District in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The assailants stormed the community late Saturday morning, launching a coordinated assault from multiple entry points, including the Dabna and Lar routes.
During the raid, the insurgents set fire to a military outpost and a primary school, leaving significant destruction in their wake.
The Resistance
Local officials said the attack unfolded around 11:00 a.m., catching residents off guard.
Although troops stationed in the area initially mounted resistance and engaged the attackers in a gun battle, the militants eventually overran the base.
An eyewitness, Reverend Isaiah Yeriman, described scenes of chaos as the exchange of gunfire intensified.
According to him, the soldiers responded swiftly when the insurgents approached, but the attackers later struck from behind through the Lar axis, overwhelming the camp.
“The troops were prepared and returned fire immediately,” Yeriman recounted. “But the attackers managed to breach the camp from the rear and completely destroyed it.”
Three soldiers were killed in the confrontation. A woman attempting to escape the violence was also fatally struck by a stray bullet.
Residents said the militants looted weapons from the captured base, including an armoured vehicle, before torching what remained of the facility.
By the time the gunfire subsided, nearly every structure within the military compound had been reduced to rubble. Only a nearby church building was left standing.
The Fallen Soldiers
Community members praised the fallen soldiers for their courage, noting that many lost not only their lives but also their personal belongings in the blaze. Calls have since been made for support and prayers for the affected troops.
Another witness, who requested anonymity, suggested that the insurgents may have relied on strategic coordination to gain the upper hand.
According to this account, the soldiers had initially pushed back the attackers until a flanking maneuver from the rear shifted the momentum.
