Tacha Reacts as Ogun Police Move to Arrest TikTok User Over Fake Rape Claim

Mirabel had initially taken to TikTok to allege that an unknown man broke into her apartment in the Ogijo area of Ogun State and sexually assaulted her.

The claim quickly gained traction online, triggering outrage and renewed conversations about violence against women, with many social media users demanding justice.

New Development

However, the narrative took a dramatic turn after an audio recording surfaced online.

The clip, shared by social media commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM), allegedly captured Mirabel admitting that the accusation was untrue.

In the recording, she expressed remorse, attributing her actions to personal challenges and mental health struggles.

“I am very sorry. I have been taking drugs and was not thinking clearly when I made the videos,” she reportedly said during the conversation.

Following the revelation, the Ogun State Police Command reportedly moved to initiate legal proceedings.

According to a source who spoke with newsmen, senior officers, including a Divisional Police Officer, visited the hospital where Mirabel is currently receiving treatment.

The source disclosed that she would be taken into custody upon discharge and formally charged in court.

It was noted that the action is intended to deter similar incidents.

Tacha Speaks

Reacting to the development on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter), Tacha insisted that authorities must take firm action. She argued that false accusations of such gravity could undermine genuine cases and embolden perpetrators.

The reality star urged law enforcement agencies responsible for handling sexual assault cases to ensure Mirabel faces strict consequences.

Tacha emphasised that allowing false claims to go unpunished could weaken the fight against sexual violence.
