The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially suspended their training boycott and are set to resume preparations for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff against Gabon, scheduled for Thursday.

The confirmation came from the team’s media unit on Wednesday, putting to rest concerns that internal disputes might jeopardize Nigeria’s qualification hopes.
The players had reportedly downed tools over unresolved issues with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), including unpaid bonuses and allowances. However, following high-level interventions, the squad has agreed to return to full training as they focus on the decisive clash.
This development comes as fans eagerly await a strong performance from the three-time African champions, who aim to secure their spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to be hosted in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.
