Relief for Importers: Customs Rolls Out One-Stop-Shop to End Clearance Delays

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has unveiled its new ‘One-Stop-Shop’ (OSS) initiative, a reform aimed at cutting cargo clearance time to just 48 hours. This policy is expected to drastically reduce port delays, lower logistics costs, and improve Nigeria’s competitiveness in global trade.

Customs officials noted that the OSS integrates multiple clearance processes into a single streamlined platform, eliminating the bottlenecks that have long frustrated importers and investors. Analysts say the move could significantly boost foreign investment and position Nigeria as a stronger player in regional and international commerce.
