A pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Ketu District, Lagos, has been jailed for defrauding one of his tenant Emeka Ugwunze, the sum of N9 million.
Jamiu Ishola Kolawole, was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment without an option of fine.
He was said to have agreed to sell his two-storey building at Gbagada Road in the Gbagada area of Lagos to Ugwunze for N20 million, he received N9 million as part payment and handed over the building’s documents to Ugwunze.
They however agreed that the deed of agreement would be prepared when the balance of N11 million is paid.
But he however disappeared after collecting the money and refused to sign the document.
He was arrested and brought before OA Adedayo of the Ogba Magistrates Court where he was found guilty and sentenced.
Kolawole is also said to be awaiting trial on another criminal charge before a court in Lagos for forgery.
He was found to have forged the medical report of the Gbagada General Hospital to feign illness before the court.
The police however found that the hospital did not have any record of the report.
PMExpress reports that the police have vowed to arraign him for the outstanding case.
