This development follows a series of strategic consultations between Kwankwaso and key figures within the ADC.

Notably, he recently met with Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, in Abuja.

Atiku later shared details of the visit on his Facebook page, describing their conversation as a wide-ranging discussion focused on the country’s current situation.

Earlier in the week, Kwankwaso also held a private meeting in Abuja with Rauf Aregbesola, the National Secretary of the ADC, further fueling speculation about his imminent move to the party.

Reports had previously indicated that Kwankwaso, who was the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, has been engaged in high-level talks with multiple political platforms.

These include both the ADC and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as part of broader political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on the ongoing negotiations, Kwankwasiyya Movement spokesperson, Mansur Kurugu, disclosed that discussions among major political actors are well advanced.

However, he noted that no final agreement has yet been reached on the platform that will ultimately serve as the coalition’s political base.
