President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded a new list of ambassadorial nominees to the Senate, including former Rivers State sole administrator Ibok‑Ete Ekwe Ibas and ex-Interior Minister and former Chief of Army Staff Abdulrahman Dambazau, as part of a broader diplomatic reshuffle.

In total, the batch comprises dozens of non-career ambassadorial nominees — a move the Presidency says aims to fill key foreign-service positions and strengthen Nigeria’s global diplomatic posture.
In his letter to the Senate, Tinubu urged lawmakers to expedite confirmation proceedings to ensure timely deployments.
The list also features other prominent names drawn from various sectors, signalling an expansion of the nation’s diplomatic outreach under the current administration.
