Controversial Nigerian street-hop artist Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, widely known as Portable, has once again sparked reactions online after publicly throwing his weight behind President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a video posted on his social media platforms, the outspoken singer urged Nigerians—particularly those of Yoruba descent—to support Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
According to him, the country’s stability depends on continuity in leadership, emphasizing that peace should be the priority.
Portable went further by issuing strong warnings, invoking traditional beliefs as he cautioned against opposing the president’s re-election.
He claimed to have been enlisted by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to campaign, hinting at upcoming grassroots mobilization efforts that may include distributing food items to supporters.
In his words, he stressed that choosing Tinubu is the path to avoiding unrest, while also suggesting that those who act otherwise would face spiritual consequences.
Beyond politics, the singer also stirred fresh debate in the music industry.
In another viral clip, Portable questioned the career trajectories of artists who have parted ways with Mavin Records.
He wondered why some former signees appear to lose momentum after leaving the label.
He specifically mentioned stars associated with the imprint, including Rema, whom he claimed has seen a decline in visibility, while acknowledging that Tiwa Savage continues to thrive.
Portable also used the moment to reach out to Mavin boss Don Jazzy, proposing a potential collaboration and suggesting that proper mentorship under the label could elevate his own career.
