Nigerian actress and reality TV personality Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, widely known as Phyna, has fired back at critics judging her decision to undergo cosmetic surgery.

In a candid post shared on Instagram, the former Big Brother Naija winner dismissed the backlash, suggesting that many of her critics are speaking from a place of financial limitation rather than genuine personal conviction.
According to her, access to money often reshapes people’s perspectives on body enhancement procedures.
Phyna argued that if her detractors were in a similar financial position, they might make the same choices.
She emphasised that wealth can influence lifestyle decisions, including cosmetic alterations, more than people are willing to admit.
Speaking bluntly, she said many who question such decisions are simply unable to afford them, adding that with significant disposable income—like ₦20 million—some critics would likely consider surgery themselves.
Her remarks have since sparked fresh debate online, with many weighing in on the intersection of money, personal choice, and societal expectations.
