Popular Nigerian TikToker Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has opened up about a difficult chapter in his life, revealing that Nollywood star and filmmaker Funke Akindele played a crucial role in helping him regain his freedom after his arrest.
Peller was taken into custody in December 2025 following a controversial incident in Lagos, where he was involved in a deliberate car crash shortly after his breakup with his then-girlfriend, Jarvis.
The incident sparked public outrage, prompting the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to order his arrest and prosecution on grounds of reckless driving.
Speaking recently at the premiere of Funke Akindele’s new film, Love Notes, Peller couldn’t hide his gratitude as he warmly exchanged greetings with the actress.
In an emotional moment, the social media influencer disclosed that Funke Akindele intervened during his ordeal and helped facilitate his release.
Expressing heartfelt appreciation, Peller described the actress as a life-saver, saying she stood by him when he needed help the most. According to him, her support during his time in prison changed the course of his life.
