The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that it will go ahead with preparations for its elective national convention scheduled for November 15 and 16, despite a fresh Federal High Court order restraining the party from conducting the event.

In a statement released on Friday, the PDP maintained that it remains committed to internal democracy and party unity, insisting that all arrangements for the convention will continue as planned.
Party officials argued that the court injunction was politically motivated and vowed to challenge it through legal means while ensuring the upcoming convention proceeds peacefully and transparently.
“We will not allow external forces to derail our democratic process,” a senior PDP source said.
The forthcoming convention is expected to produce new members of the National Working Committee (NWC) and set the tone for the party’s strategic repositioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
