NUPENG Slams Adams Oshiomhole, Calls Him ‘Judas Iscariot’ After ‘Disgraceful’ Remarks

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has launched a fiery attack on Senator Adams Oshiomhole, blacklisting the former labour leader over what it described as “disgraceful and hypocritical comments” about the union’s activities.

In a strongly worded statement released on Saturday, NUPENG leadership accused Oshiomhole of betraying the labour movement, likening his recent remarks to the actions of “Judas Iscariot who sold out his own people.”

The union claimed that Oshiomhole’s comments were “reckless and unbecoming” of someone who once served as a prominent labour advocate before venturing into politics.

“We are deeply disappointed that someone who once fought alongside workers now speaks against them for political convenience,” the statement read.

NUPENG further announced that Oshiomhole has been blacklisted from all its engagements, vowing to resist any attempts to undermine workers’ rights or misrepresent the union’s struggle for better welfare conditions.

The former Edo State governor and current senator has yet to respond to the allegations, but the clash has sparked intense debate online, with Nigerians divided over Oshiomhole’s legacy as both a labour hero and a political figure.

This marks one of the sharpest public fallouts between NUPENG and a former comrade  a development analysts say could reshape labour-political relations in Nigeria.
