Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, on Monday visited Kontagora, Niger State, to assess the situation following the recent abduction of students and staff of St. Mary’s Catholic School, Papiri, in Agwara Local Government Area.

Ribadu’s visit comes amid rising concerns over worsening insecurity in the region, especially repeated attacks on schools. During the assessment tour, the NSA met with local authorities, security agencies, and community leaders to gather firsthand information and coordinate efforts aimed at securing the safe release of the victims.
He assured residents that the Federal Government is committed to rescuing the abducted students and staff, strengthening intelligence operations, and restoring peace to the affected communities.
The Kontagora visit marks one of the latest high-level interventions as the government intensifies counter-kidnapping operations across the North.
