Staff of the Federal Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism are now groaning under severe hardship as they are yet to get their November salaries.
Findings indicate that most of the affected staff are those in the mainstream media organizations under the supervision of the ministry that constitute over 80 percent of the ministry staff.
The affected staff those with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Voice of Nigeria (VON) among others.
Further checks indicate that while the Ministry under th supervision of the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed may have approached the IPPIS office for verification, it’s officials are yet to address the staff over the matter.
Already some of the staff have nicknamed the issue November 38th which is currently affecting the morale of the staff.
It was also gathered that apart from the MDAs under the Federal Ministry of Information, about 75 percent of federal departments and agencies are also suffering the same problem of non-payment of November salaries.
Some of the federal staff who spoke under condition of anonymity lamented that their children have been sent out of school as exams approaches for not paying their school fees.
They appeal to the federal ministry of finance and others responsible to help resolve the problem and pay the outstanding salaries.
