Nigerian Army Rescues 21 Kidnapped Passengers in Kogi

The Nigerian Army has confirmed the successful rescue of 21 passengers who were abducted along the Obajana–Oshokoshoko Road in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.

According to a statement released on Thursday, troops of the Army’s Quick Response unit responded swiftly after receiving reports of armed men blocking the highway and forcing passengers into the bush. The soldiers reportedly engaged the kidnappers in a coordinated operation, overpowering them and securing the release of all abducted victims.

The rescued passengers have since been handed over to relevant authorities for medical evaluation and reunification with their families.

The Army reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying operations across the state, especially around highways notorious for bandit and kidnappers’ activities.

Security agencies have also urged commuters to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements as efforts continue to combat criminal networks in the region.
