A Major General addressing the congregation of Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo has vowed that the military will protect the community and work closely with residents to halt a recent spate of killings.

Speaking during Sunday’s service, the senior military officer delivered a direct assurance to the cleric and worshippers:
“We will not allow anyone to harm or kill you, I can assure you. We are ready to work with you to ensure these killings are stopped.”
The visit — which included meetings with local leaders and security briefings — was described by church members as a welcome sign of concern from the nation’s armed forces. Congregants said the Major General emphasized intelligence-led operations, enhanced patrols, and improved community-security cooperation as immediate steps to tackle the threat.
Reverend Dachomo thanked the military for the reassurance, urging residents to remain calm and to provide any information that could assist security agencies. Local authorities also called on citizens to cooperate with security operatives and report suspicious activities to help prevent future attacks.
Security analysts say such high-profile engagements can boost public confidence and improve information flow between communities and security agencies — both crucial in combating violent groups. However, they cautioned that lasting peace will require sustained presence, timely intelligence, and socioeconomic interventions to address root causes of violence.
