20-year-old Zofia Sadowska, a single mother, who angered Ahsan ‘Ali’ Hassan by engaging in “mild sexual activity” with his best friend was suffocated to death out of jealousy.
The Pakistani worker Hassan was jailed for life for the murder of his ex-girlfriend
Police and paramedics had found Hassan lying in a pool of blood with deep self-inflicted cuts to his wrist next to Zofia’s body in his bedroom at his home on September 19 last year.
The night before, at around 11.30pm, he had tricked his former lover to go to the Dennis kebab shop in High Wycombe, having still possessed the keys to his former workplace.
At around 2am, after murdering Zofia, he put her in a waiting taxi, telling the driver she was drunk and asleep, before taking her to his house.
Emergency services were called just after 5am, to a report of an attempted suicide. Hassan told investigating officers that it was a suicide pact to try and cover up what he had done.
The 20-year-old victim was a mother-of-one
Senior Investigating Officer, Det Insp Stuart Blaik of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “Zofia Sadowska was a fun loving young mother who had everything to live for.
She was murdered a week before her 21st birthday at the hands of Ahsan Hassan.
“The court has heard during this trial the details about Hassan’s controlling, manipulative and coercive behaviour which resulted in her murder on the evening of Sunday 18th September 2016.
“On the night of her death Zofia was expecting to be going to a special party, however this never happened.
“Hassan had already hatched a plan to kill her because he knew that their relationship was going to end that night and he selfishly couldn’t cope with that.
