More than 50 pupils have been rescued so far from Baden private School which collapsed this morning at Itafaji Street, near Adeniji Adele in Lagos Island.
They rescued so far are receiving treatment at the Lagos Island Hospital, Marina.
The 3 storey building housing the private school collapsed,allegedly due to the result of a recent dredging that happened within the area thereby affecting the building.
Several children are still trapped under the rubbles of the three story building that suddenly collapsed in the morning of today Wednesday.
Some parents are said to have more than one child in the school, some have 2, while some others have up to 4.
As part of effort to rescue the trapped pupils who were wailing under the rubbles, men of Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA, Lagos State Fire Service, and other rescue teams have been dispatched to the scene.
According to source, the floor of the building houses a school where pupils were in class when the tragedy struck.
It’s gathered that many of the students are currently still trapped
The Lagos state fire and Emergency are presently on ground trying to rescue the children that are trapped, to ensure that trapped victims are brought out alive.
