Dami, daughter of legendary Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1), has shut down rumours suggesting she is romantically involved with Nigerian singer Asake.

Speculation began after Dami and Asake were spotted together at a recent event, where she shared a photo of them on Instagram with the caption, “Mr Money and Mrs Money.”
The post quickly triggered gossip across social media and entertainment blogs, with many assuming the duo were an item.
Reacting to the growing rumours, Dami took to her Instagram page on Monday to set the record straight. According to her, the photo was taken during her first-ever encounter with the singer and had no romantic meaning attached to it.
“Guys, that was my first time meeting him, so I took a picture. Please don’t believe everything blogs post — they’ll do anything for traffic,” she wrote.
Asake, who has kept his private life largely away from the spotlight, has not been publicly linked to anyone since his reported breakup with his former Gambian girlfriend, Madame Mystique, in 2014.
Meanwhile, Asake continues to enjoy admiration within the music industry, with Afrobeats star Wizkid recently singing his praises. Speaking during an appearance on Apple Music Radio alongside DJ Tunez, Wizkid revealed that he would love to have Asake perform at his wedding.

The Grammy-winning singer described Asake as one of Africa’s most gifted artists, noting that his music has left a lasting impression on him.
Wizkid singled out “Remember” as his favourite Asake track and applauded the singer’s impact on African music, adding that Asake’s sound has been a personal favourite for quite some time.
