Residents of Ise community in Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos state, have decried the spate of insecurity in their area, and are appealing to the government to come to their rescue.
This is Following the recent kidnap of a
42 year old Ademola Salami, who was kidnapped by seven armed men and whisked across the river.
The abductors have demanded a sum of 100 million Naira as ransom for his release.
An eye witness said the victim Known to be a dealer in planks, allegedly received a call, asking him to make delivery of some products at the jetty before his abduction.
Residents expressing their sadness
According to them, for the past seven years, a divisional Police station commissioned in Ise had been a ghost of itself as no police officers were deployed there until the recent attack.
They have however pleaded with the government to take immediate action so as to flush out the criminals who they say take refuge in about five creeks across the river.
