Nollywood actor-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo has taken a swipe at Nigeria’s ruling party, warning that the country may struggle to cope with another term under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Okonkwo explained that his decision to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was driven by his desire to support efforts aimed at addressing Nigeria’s deepening political and economic challenges.
The former spokesperson for the presidential campaign of the Labour Party said the ADC provides a credible platform to work toward improving the welfare of Nigerians and stabilising the country.
Okonkwo argued that persistent issues such as insecurity and poor governance have placed enormous strain on citizens, stressing that the ADC intends to position itself as an alternative capable of delivering practical solutions.
He also urged Nigerians to consider supporting the party, noting that its guiding principles focus on prioritising the well-being of the people.
According to him, the current situation in the country—marked by rising fuel prices, security concerns and allegations of corruption—has become increasingly difficult for citizens to bear.
Okonkwo cautioned that Nigeria might not withstand another four years of what he described as ineffective leadership and widespread governance failures under the APC.

The actor-politician maintained that the ADC is committed to mobilising Nigerians who want to see meaningful reforms, adding that the party aims to play a central role in efforts to reposition the country and prevent further decline.
