Nigerians Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has allegedly resigned her appointment in what sources said is not unconnected with allegations that she forged her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate.
Daily Correspondents gathered from a reliable source that she is also likely to be arrested by the police and possibly charged in court for forgery.
A source in the Finance Ministry said Mrs Adeosun who felt scandalized by the forgery allegation against her, also felt that her position is becoming untenable and is hurting the President in the run up to the 2019 election.
Pressed to confirm if President Muhammadu Buhari directed her to resign, the source said, “while she did not say that in plain language, it was clear that is what happened. But, my brother, I cannot tell you more than that. Just know that she has resigned. She has left the Cabinet.”
Premium Times had blew the lid on the NYSC scandal a few months back with attempts to dismiss it by the minister and her aides.
But the newspaper stuck to its story, insisting that it has facts to back it up.
