Joined APC to Thank Tinubu — Governor Fubara Explains Defection

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has explained his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the move was primarily to express gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking on his defection, Governor Fubara said his alignment with the ruling party was not driven by political pressure or personal ambition, but by a desire to formally appreciate President Tinubu for his support and leadership. He noted that the President’s interventions and cooperation with the Rivers State government had contributed significantly to stability and governance in the state.

Fubara emphasized that his decision was taken after wide consultations and in the overall interest of Rivers State, adding that constructive engagement with the federal government remains crucial for development and progress.
