The Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu Amupitan, has expressed readiness to partner with the National Assembly (NASS) to strengthen Nigeria’s electoral process and ensure credible, transparent, and inclusive elections.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the leadership of the National Assembly in Abuja, Amupitan emphasized the need for collaboration between the electoral body and lawmakers to enhance voter confidence and improve the legal framework governing elections.
She noted that the Commission remains committed to leveraging technology, improving logistics, and promoting civic education to guarantee fair outcomes in future polls.
In response, the Senate President commended the Commission’s efforts toward electoral reforms and pledged the legislature’s full support in ensuring electoral laws reflect global best practices.
