The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved eight out of fourteen political associations seeking registration as new political parties in Nigeria.

In its latest update, the electoral body revealed that the following associations have received the green light to proceed to the next stage of the registration process:
- All Democratic Alliance (ADA)
- Citizens Democratic Alliance (CDA)
- Abundance Social Party (ASP)
- African Alliance Party (AAP)
- Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA)
- Green Future Party (GFP)
- National Democratic Party (NDP)
- Peoples Freedom Party (PFP)
According to INEC, the next phase will involve a comprehensive evaluation and verification of all submitted documents and information provided by the associations. This step is crucial to ensure that each group meets the constitutional and legal requirements for registration as a political party in Nigeria.
INEC reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and adherence to due process in the political party registration exercise, emphasizing that only organizations meeting the stipulated conditions will be fully recognized.
