A prominent human rights lawyer has made a shocking revelation, alleging that politicians — not IPOB — are behind the growing wave of cultism and violence across the South-East region.
The lawyer, who spoke during a live interview on Wednesday, claimed that some political figures fund and protect cult groups to maintain influence and suppress opposition within their territories.
According to him, “It is convenient for many to blame IPOB for every attack or killing in the South-East, but the real problem is political. Cultism is being sponsored by politicians who use it as a tool of control.”
He further called on security agencies to redirect their investigations towards those benefiting from the chaos rather than targeting innocent civilians or political opponents.
The revelation has sparked heated conversations online, with many Nigerians demanding that the identities of the alleged political sponsors be made public.
