In a statement issued on Monday, February 16, the examination body informed candidates that they can now access their results online.

It also advised them to verify their performance before proceeding to obtain their digital certificates.

How Candidates Can Check Results and Access Certificates

According to WAEC, candidates should first visit the official results portal at (http://www.waecdirect.org) to confirm their grades.

After verifying their results, they can then proceed to the digital certificate platform at (http://www.waec.org) to access available electronic copies of their certificates.

For those who require hard copies, WAEC directed candidates to apply through its online Certificate Request Portal, known as e-Certman.

The council urged all candidates to carefully review their results and promptly complete any necessary steps, including certificate processing and related applications.

Registration and Participation Statistics

A total of 69,604 candidates registered for the 2025 second series examination, marking a 1.8 per cent increase compared to the 68,342 recorded in 2024. Out of those registered, 65,752 candidates eventually sat for the examination across 370 centres nationwide.

The figure included 235 candidates with special needs, such as visually impaired and hearing-impaired candidates, as well as albinos.

Of the 65,752 candidates who wrote the examination, 32,005 (48.68 per cent) were male, while 33,747 (51.32 per cent) were female.

Results Processing and Performance Overview

WAEC disclosed that 61,943 candidates — representing 94.21 per cent — have had their results fully processed and released.

However, 3,809 candidates (5.79 per cent) still have some subjects undergoing processing due to errors attributed to them.

The council assured affected candidates that efforts are underway to conclude the processing exercise.

Performance data revealed that 33,989 candidates (51.69 per cent) obtained credit passes and above in at least five subjects, with or without English Language and Mathematics.

Furthermore, 27,727 candidates (42.17 per cent) achieved credit passes in a minimum of five subjects, including both English Language and Mathematics. Of this group, 13,416 candidates (48.39 per cent) were male, while 14,311 (51.61 per cent) were female.

Nearly 2,000 Results Withheld

The council also confirmed that 1,899 results — representing 2.89 per cent of candidates who sat the examination — have been withheld over allegations of examination malpractice.

WAEC stated that investigations are ongoing and that findings will be reviewed by the appropriate committee. Final decisions will be communicated directly to the candidates involved.
