Ghana Cyber Security Authority Arrests 32 Nigerians

The Cyber Security Authority in Ghana has arrested 32 Nigerian nationals in connection with an alleged large-scale romance scam syndicate operating in Kasoa Tuba. The arrests were carried out in the early hours of today during a coordinated operation by Ghanaian security agencies.

According to preliminary reports, the suspects were allegedly involved in online romance scams targeting victims across multiple countries. Security operatives reportedly seized several electronic devices, including laptops and mobile phones, believed to have been used in perpetrating the fraudulent activities.

Authorities said the operation followed weeks of intelligence gathering and digital surveillance aimed at dismantling cybercrime networks in the area. The suspects are currently in custody and are expected to be screened and interrogated, while further investigations continue to identify possible collaborators and victims linked to the syndicate.

Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority reiterated its commitment to combating cybercrime and warned that the country will not serve as a safe haven for digital fraud and related criminal activities.
