FIRS to Launch Nigeria Tax Reform Acts on November 10, 2025

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced that it will formally launch the Nigeria Tax Reform Acts on Monday, November 10, 2025, marking a major milestone in the country’s ongoing fiscal and economic reform efforts.

According to a statement from the agency, the initiative is aimed at enhancing tax compliance, simplifying processes, and improving revenue collection efficiency in line with the Federal Government’s broader economic reform agenda.

The launch event, expected to take place in Abuja, will bring together key stakeholders from government, business, and civil society. The new Acts consolidate various amendments and policies designed to streamline Nigeria’s tax administration, expand the tax net, and create a more transparent system for both individuals and corporate taxpayers.

“This reform represents a decisive step toward building a fair, efficient, and technology-driven tax system that supports national growth,” a senior FIRS official said.

The Nigeria Tax Reform Acts are part of the government’s efforts to reposition the country’s fiscal framework, ensure accountability, and reduce leakages in public revenue management.

Experts believe the move could boost investor confidence, improve ease of doing business, and strengthen Nigeria’s fiscal stability in the long term.
